Chibu Okere asked me to craft a poem to sit with the work and deepen its theme: the connective thread the African diaspora creates for Black History Month.
I wrote the VO script and built it on emotive prose that captured the constant pull of our African ancestry. Wherever the diaspora lives, an underlying force guides us; we move in the footsteps of those we've loved and those we will love, a reminder that Black people are never alone.
The results of the work done together was nationally televised commercial, complemented by social extensions.
